Yin binnen Yang en Yang binnen Yin
Yin and yang aren’t black and white; they’re relative concepts that constantly flow into one another. To understand this, we need only look at the daily cycle.
- Yang within Yang (Morning/Afternoon):The sun rises and reaches its zenith. This represents maximum activity and warmth. In the body, this corresponds to the Heart: active, warm, and outward-facing.
- Yin binnen Yang (Namiddag):The sun is still there, but its power is waning. It’s getting cooler. This corresponds to the Lungs: energy begins to turn inward and descend, preparing for night.
- Yin within Yin (First half of the night):It’s dark and quiet. Utter tranquility. This corresponds to the Kidneys: storage, recovery, and deep stillness.
- Yang within Yin (Second Half of the Night):It’s still dark, but nature is starting to awaken (roosters crowing, birds singing). Energy is stirring. This corresponds to the Liver: dormant energy is starting to rise to start the new day.
Insight:Health means moving with these rhythms. Being active when it’s Yang, and resting when it’s Yin.
