Weinsch Less Worries Extra Strong is a modified version of the classical formula Xiao Yao San (Free & Easy Wanderer), first recorded in the Song Dynasty text Tai Ping Hui Min He Ji Ju Fang (Imperial Grace Formulary of the Tai Ping Era). The original formula was designed to soothe Liver Qi stagnation and support the Spleen. Later, Mu Dan Pi (Moutan Cortex) and Zhi Zi (Gardenia) were added to clear heat from the Liver and cool the blood, creating Dan Zhi Xiao Yao San. This modification expanded the formula’s use to include heat signs such as irritability, acne, and PMS with internal heat. It remains a widely used and respected formula in modern Chinese medicine.
